Role Overview

We are looking for a qualified accounting intern to assist the Controller in the Administration and Accounting department. The ideal intern will be an accounting major that is at a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior class level.

This position is available on a semester basis and will be located in our Rochester, New York office.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day accounting functions including:
    • Recording and reconciling accounts within Payable and Receivable processes
    • Preparing payments for vendors, primarily utilizing JPMChase Access
    • Aid in cash flow forecasting and budget updates
    • Support month end close tasks and journal entry recording
  • Assist with special projects including:
    • Digital enablement for the Finance/Accounting Team
    • Enhance QuickBooks usage
    • Researching tools for forecasting, invoicing, etc.
    • Generating reports for leadership & sales and service departments
    • Facilitating year-end tasks for the external accountants

Requirements

  • Accounting major at the Sophomore, Junior, or Senior class level
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications preferred
  • Ability to work on a team and individually
  • Highly motivated
  • Experience with QuickBooks is a plus
